You are bidding on a rare Gibson SG Standard bought in 1970. I am the original owner and only owner since date of purchase.
This guitar is a rare find with only 16,700 manufactured between 1963-1970. You can look back and see bands like AC/DC and Black Sabbath used Gibson SG Standards in their performances.
The guitar has double sharp cutaway mahogany body, layered black pickguard, one piece mahogany neck, 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl trapezoid inlay, tuno-o-matic bridge/side-pull vibrato, blackface peghead with logo inlay, 3-per-side tuners, nickel hardware, 2 covered humbucker pickups, 2 volume/2 tone controls, 3-positions switch.
The number OKAT13770, is found on the back of the volume control. Some may know that the last two digits of the verification number confirm the year of manufacture: 1970. Contact Gibson at 1-800-444-2766 to confirm verification or production year. Serial number is 907827.
Everything about the guitar is original with the exception of the strings. Strings were left loose during storage to ensure the neck remained in perfect alignment. There are no modifications to the guitar. This guitar is in absolute outstanding condition with only minor nicks which will be shown in the pictures below. If you’d like any other pictures, please email me and I’d be glad to take any angles or details you prefer.
The guitar has gone unused and stored in the guitar case for the last 30 years in a climate controlled room; never an attic or basement. Only occasionally used for the first 10 years of ownership. It was purchased after leaving a band, so it has never been used in a performance.
Check out my 100% feedback never any dissapointments !!!!
