Looking for a cool vintage SG that won't break the bank? Here's one for all the players out there. Some issues and changes mean a much lower price. This early 70s SG has been modded for maximum tone and vibe. The bad? Stable headstock repair and refin. The good? It's priced affordably and looks cool. The body is mahogany for great tone. The 3 piece mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. The pickups have been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck and a JB at the bridge. Recent pots. A Wilkinson wraparound tailpiece and Sperzel locking tuners keep it rock solid. The finish has been stripped to a walnut color reminiscent of the current Faded Special SGs. A cool guitar with crazy hip vibe!
This SG plays fine and has good tone. The neck is slim like most Gibson's of the period. Narrow nut. The frets show some wear and are dressed low but the guitar still plays fine. The pickups sound great. Lots of tones. Condition wise, it's for a player. The original finish is gone. The headstock has a stable repair. Not too ugly. There's possible body repair near the neck joint. Still has the screw holes from its Maestro trem. Shows dents, dings and scratches as you would expect from a player's guitar. Cool road warrior look. Comes in an aftermarket hardshell case.
Here's your chance to grab a cool SG for not a lot of cash. Tons of vibe for a great price. This would be a $2500-3000 guitar if it were straight. Save big time! BUY IT NOW and own a great guitar!
