NEAR MINT 2001 GIBSON GOTHIC SG
ACTIVE EMG 81 BRIDGE PICKUP ($100 VALUE)
COILTAPPABLE EMG 89 NECK PICKUP ($120 VALUE)
ORIGINAL GIBSON HARDSHELL CASE ($100 VALUE)
Well, up for sale is a diamond in the rough, my near mint 2001 Gibson Gothic SG. I am selling this reluctantly, but I need the money. This guitar has never been played in a live setting. It has only been used in my bedroom, and has been sitting in its case unplayed for the past 5 years. The only thing keeping this guitar from being in absolute mint condition is a TINY ding just below the tailpiece, and very very light buckle rash on the back of the body. The ding is so tiny that I couldn't get a picture of it. It's about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. The pickguard has been professionally painted a flat gray. This, in my opinion looks MUCH better than the glossy black finish that the pickguard originally had. The whole guitar is flat black, so why would you have a glossy pickguard? Plus the gray gives the guitar a bit more contrast and makes it look more original.
This guitar has an active EMG 81 in the bridge position, and an EMG 89 in the neck position. The EMG 89 has a coil tap function. By pulling out on the volume knob, you can split the humbucker into a single coil, allowing for one more option for your tone. This is incredibly useful and makes the guitar extremely versatile.
I will be shipping this guitar in its original Gibson hardshell case, a $100 value. The case is also in excellent condition. The combination for the lock on the case has never been set, so you can set it to whatever combination you want.
Look at the other Gothic SG's listed on ebay. They have stock pickups, not EMG's. They don't have a coiltap in the neck pickup. They don't have active electronics. They probably aren't in as good of condition as mine, and they probably won't come with a hardshell case. If this is the guitar you want, you aren't going to beat this deal.
I will only accept paypal, and buyer must pay within 24 hours of purchase. The guitar will be shipped via UPS for $40 within the United States, or local pickup can be arranged. I will not ship outside of the United States. Item is sold as is. No Returns.

one of the pictures the neck pickup is mistakenly labeled as an EMG
81TW. This is incorrect. It is an EMG 89)
