Gibson SG Guitars

This auction is for a 1996 Gibson SG Special that I got because I wanted to learn to play the guitar better. It had a partially broken head which I understand is common with these Gibson guitars due to the angle it is set on the neck. It was reppaired and I had it to a Luthier who adjusted the truss rod and put new strinds, etc on it. I also the relaquered the area and had sanded it and preserved the Gibson logo and the "made in the USA" sticker. It is not a professional job but is not bad.  Unfortunately, due to rather serious arthritic in my left thumb joint, wrist and hand, I cannot play the guitar. Especially not this one as the neck is too wide for my hand even if I did not have the joint issues. So I am givng up my hope of learning to play it and have decided to let someone who will appreciate it have a chance at owning it. There are no other dings on the guitar to speck of except of pick scratches on the pick guard and light scuffing on the back.  (The picture of the back is bad  - it is pretty bright and shiny). The tuners are marked "Gibson Deluxe" and are tose funny plastic ones they still put on their guitars.I think that the electronics seem to function as they should. I broke two strings and had to replace them so the strings are not all from the same set. I will loosen the strings when I ship it, or I will remove them entirely, depending on  what the buyer would like me to do.

The estimated shipping cost is for the guitar itself, well packed and shipped by FedEx with insurance. I may be estimating high but this is approximately what I was told it would cost to ship from California to Texas. The addition of the case will add weight and I will need to get a somewhat larger box for shipping. If the high bidder wants the case, it is $40.00 (The is a new case) and add $10.00 to the shipping cost.

I will try very hard to make sure the the guitar is well packed and still try to keep the shipping charges as low as possible, but I think that this is a fairly heavy guitar. If the shipping charges are much less than my estimate, I will refund the buyer if it is over $2.00.

Please look at the pictures. I have tried to describe this as best I could. I have no ability to take returns and cannot refund shipping fees. If you are looking at this guitar, you know what a new one costs and you know what a used on costs, so it is up to you to decide whether this will fit your needs and your budget.

I will do my best to answer question, but I am not an expert at this by any means.
