Up for sale is 2008 Gibson SG with a satin brown mahogany finish. I am a professional luthier with my own repair/custom shop and this was a shop guitar for the last few years to demo mods. I originally bought this particular guitar because it has some of the nicest ribbon pattern to the grain I have seen on one of these, as well as the seams in the body are very well matched with the grain so they are barely visible. The only things on this guitar that are original/stock is the body, neck, and frets basically. It has Kluson/Tonepros tuners installed which offer very smooth tuning. I installed a Graphtech/Tusq nut. The edges of the fingerboard have been lightly rolled to play more comfortably. Frets are still practically new. It has Rio Grande pickups (Texas/ BBQ set which I would put in the category of a Burstbucker 2 & 3 or Duncan Pearly Gates) for ouput and tone. They are much clearer and articulate than the original 496r & 500t it came stock with but are still able to dirty up and get raunchy with some overdrive. The pickguard is a cream pearl from WDMusic. Lots of customers always commented on how good it looks on this guitar. It has a Tonepros locking bridge and Graphtech saddles for great tone and reduced string breakage. It has a Gotoh aluminum tailpiece and locking Tonepros studs to help resonance (and the bridge and tailpiece won't fall off when you change strings). The electronics are all top quality with 500K and 1meg K CTS volume pots with treble kits so you don't lose highs when rolling volume down. It is wired with 500k push-pull tone pots so the tone is bypassed in normal mode so you get the full tone of the pickups out the jack. Pull up to engage the tone controls with Mojotone capacitors. Toggle and jack are Switchcraft. Being a demo guitar it does have some small dings and scratches around the edges but is overall in very good shape. There is a shiny spot near the neck strap button where I had a shop label fixed on it for a long time. If you were to have a shop do everything I've done to this guitar you would have about $800 in parts and labor. Only selling because I am buying some new shop equipment. Will ship in a padded Roadrunner gig bag and be very well packed. Please ask any questions before bidding and I will answer as soon as possible. I work noon to 9pm and check my email before work and when I get home. US buyers only please. Shipping will be free Priority USPS mail with insurance.
