You are bidding on a truly one-of-a-kind masterpiece. This guitar was manufactured by Gibson for a very short period of time in the mid- to late-2000s and is now discontinued. Anyone serious about hard rock and/or metal needs to give this guitar a look. First of all, it's an American SG. The "Special" in its name is of no relation to the other, somewhat less than standard, Specials in Gibson's line. This guitar is truly special in every sense of the word. It has a satin black finish over the entirety of the body and neck. The guitar is loaded with the hard rock and metal standard for pickup configurations, an EMG 81 in the bridge and an EMG 85 in the neck. There are no fretboard inlays, which make this guitar look both clean and foreboding at the same time. Make no mistake, this is no "Gothic" with cheesy moon inlays, one of the newer "Morte" SGs with cheap pickups, or worse, one of those "Vampire" SGs with all the ugly red accents. This is a no-nonsense rock machine.
All of the original paperowrk is included and the serial number is 019160356. The guitar came with a gig bag, but I am including a brand new Gibson USA SG hard case instead, which is a $260.00 list value in itself. There is a tiny little ding in the tolex at the head of the case. As far as the guitar, it is as near mint as you can get. I bought it in 2007 and it has been meticulously cared for ever since. There are some barely visible pick scratches on the pickguard, which is normal. The guitar sounds and plays amazingly. The only reason I am selling it is because it doesn't really fit my style anymore. The bottom line is if you are even remotely interested in hard rock or metal and can appreciate a finely crafted piece of American workmanship without a bunch of cliched selling points, this is definitely the guitar for you! Good luck bidding and I know you will love this guitar as much as I have!
