For the new year i have decided to jump in and sell some items on ebay. First up for auction is an original vintage1966 Gibson SG jr.
The Good:
Original cherry finish, serial number 554292
Original double line Kluson deluxe tuners
Original rosewood fretboard with no wear visible
Original medium jumbo frets with very little wear on them
Original pickguard
Original "dog eared" P90 pick up that sounds great
Original Gibson bridge with Maestro Vibrola
Original pots
Original tone and volume knobs
Original case
The Bad:
Replaced switchcraft input jack
Three small cracks, (1) from the bottom of the input jack to the electronics cavity, (2) from the middle of the lower bout to the electronics cavity, (3) back of the neck from the nut to the first fret. None of these in my opinion affect the playability or the sound of the guitar. The guitar rocks.
The pickguard has shrunk on the lower bout losing the pickguard tip
The Kluson Deluxe tuner for the D string has a slight bend
The Ugly:
There is none. This is a good looking and playing guitar that has many decades of life left at an affordable price now. It will only go up in value as you play away.
Being a used guitar it is not without the little nicks and dings and scratches it has received over its 45 year life.
