This listing is for a 1963 Gibson, Les Paul SG Standard, serial number 133711. I am the second owner (I have owned this guitar since 1968) and will be including a letter from Gibson that was sent to me in 1975, dating this guitar as a 1963. This guitar has had a lot of use, and has had 3 functional repairs, but has not needed any electrical or fret repairs. The glue on the neck dried out and the neck was reset/reglued (photo #8), the wood around the jack was damaged and needed repair (photo #4) and there was a crack in the rear of the headstock that was reglued (photo #6) All of these repairs were done by Dick Robinson at The House Of Guitars in Rochester, NY. At my request there was no refinishing done, but all of the repairs have been done correctly. They are durable and have not affected the tone or playability.

The pickups are the original humbuckers, they are the third style of PAFs and and they have never been removed or modified. The bridge, tailpiece, controls, switches and knobs are also the originals with no modifications. The only change that was ever made was replacing the original tuners with Grovers' in the early 1970s.

If you are looking for a Les Paul/SG, you probably already know that this rare guitar was only made for about 3 years. I'm sure that there are others for sale at a much higher price that were used way less than mine. You might want to ask yourself why they weren't played. This guitar plays and sounds great and was played often.

I will be shipping this guitar in a sturdy fitted TKL case inside a heavy duty Gibson shipping box , both of which I feel will offer the best protection, at no additional charge.

Please ask any questions before bidding and send me your email address if you are looking for additional photos.

All sales will be final.

No International sales.
